Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation organized III International Asia WUKF Karate Championship in Shahid Shohrawardy Indoor Stadium at Mirpur,Dhaka on 25th January-30th January. About 18 countries ie Brazil, Sri Lanka, Romania, Nepal, Pakistan including India participated in the Championship categorised under the basis of age,weight and Belt category. Alzeenia Faim Qureshi,Aman Faim Qureshi and Sapan Tilokani of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur participated and proudly won Silver and Bronze medal for our country. School’s coach Shriram Choudhary also won Gold medal in the honor of representing the Best Coach. Principal Mrs. Meena Singh congratulated the children for making our institution proud by winning at International level and motivated them tofurther take part in such games to make our country proud.

  The students, staff, and management of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar bade farewell to the outgoing students of XII Std. Principal Mrs. Meena Singh offered prayers to Lord Ganesha for bright and successful future of the students in the forthcoming exams and life ahead. The cultural event commenced with Ganesh Vandana followed by the power-packed dance performance of XI Std. which was full of feelings and emotions for their departing seniors. The entire aura became more sentimental when ex-head boy Mohit Mutha shared his experiences of school-days and the last day. Felicitations to the students of XII Std. were the most awaited event and it was quite difficult to choose only one for each category. Boys were looking handsome and elegant in their Suits and girls were beautiful gorgeous graceful in their Sarees. Mohit Mutha and Harshita Singh were given the awards of Mr. Edmund’s and Ms. Edmund’s based on their year-long performances. Aporv Sharma & Shetakshi were Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell, Beautiful Smile of Deepika Khatri and the elegant style of Sammer Malhotra won the hearts of one and all. Best in Co-curricular Activities Award was given to Karishma Sahani and Sagar Kewalramani. In the end Principal, Mrs. Meena Singh blessed the students with her inspiring words and asked them to tread on the path of truth and humanity. Dr. Pooja Singh shared experiences of her student life and congratulated the winners of the day and wished them for their bright future ahead.

Annual Cultural Fiesta 2010 of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar was organized at Biral Auditorium. It was based on the theme ‘RISHTEY’ … a call for being human’ depicting the importance of humanism in one’s life Sh. P.I. Sabu (Joint Secretary Central Board of Secondary Education and Regional Officer, Ajmer Region) was the Chief Guest for the grand evening. Director Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh and Principal Mrs. Meena Singh welcomed the guest in a traditional manner. The event commenced with garlanding Lord Ganesha lighting the inaugural lamp and paying tribute to Late Sh. Ranbir Singh Ji – the founder of the Institution. It was followed by the display of Annual Report and felicitation ceremony. All meritorious students as well as students with outstanding performances were awarded by Sh. Sabu. The cultural programme started with meticulous performances of ‘Ganesha Vandana’ followed by thrilling and power packed performances of Tiny-Toddlers of Pre-primary and budding artists of primary section. The audience was spell bound while looking at the various aspects of relations in life and understanding their importance at various stages. It was displayed through various historical characters like – Krishna-Sudama, Meera-Krishna, Shravan Kumar etc. depicting the relations beyond blood relations like soldier, deputed at Border, symbol of humanity – Mother Teresa etc. In short, it was a magnanimous effort of students to reveal their sentiments in two and a half hours. In the end, Sh. Sabu encouraged the students with his words of wisdom and blessings and asked them to tread on the path of truth and become a true INDIAN.

The campus of St Edmund’s School, jawahar nagar was echoing with the sound of “Padharo Mahare Desh” while they were welcoming the Troup of French delegates during their two days visit on 16th and 17th august. French guests were excited when they were being welcomed by putting tilaks on their foreheads and garlands around their necks. They came here to interact with the students of std. VI to std. VIII about the rich and unique heritage of our country India. They conversed with the students in their native language French and were amazed to see the students replying to them with ease. They had various interactive sessions with various students. Both the delegates and the students enjoyed the exchange. They played various indoor and outdoor games with the students of the school. They played basket ball match with the students of the senior section of the school and were astonished to see their wonderful skills. Principal Mrs. Meena Singh presented each of them with a memento as a token of love and remembrance.

 

  “Garima” as the name suggests “GRACE”. She has brought ‘grace’ to her nation by spreading her fragrance to the entire boundaries of International Garden. She was a meritorious student of our school from batch 2005-06. She has received accolades for the “Best Pilot” at a tender age of 20 years from the Union Aviation Academy at Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa. She got her Commercial Pilot license after completing merely 200 hours of flying. On her victorious return to the motherland, she was felicitated by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. As she hails from the historical state of Rajasthan, she has been the Guest of Honour for the dignitaries of State as well. His excellency Late Shri S.K Singh, Governor of Rajasthan also patted her back and congratulated her for her brilliant success. Among others who were overwhelmed by her achievements were Ex Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Ex Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Anshuman Singh, Transport Minister, Shri Brij Kishore Sharma And Ex Vice Chancellor, Shri K.K Kamal etc. Apart from this, the flying queen has also been awarded Brahman Ratna by Jagat Guru Shankaracharya. School Staff and management is delighted to see this delicate girl flying and soaring heights in the sky. Entire Edmund’s family congratulates “Garima” for her magnanimous success and wishes her EVER BRIGHT FUTURE.
