In a profound celebration of devotion and creativity, the students of St. Edmund’s Jawahar Nagar filled the Birla Auditorium with an aura of divine energy on the evening of October 26, 2024, during their annual gala. With the theme "Nav Durga: The Eternal Shakti of Existence," the event showcased the students' remarkable talent and deep connection to the sacred force of the divine.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Anu Agarwal( DJ), along with the Special guests Kanhaiya Pareek (CJM Metropolitan), Narayan Prasad Ji (CJM), Mohd Azam (CJM), and Krishna Rakesh (ACJM), whose presence added to the grandeur of the occasion.
The theme "Nav Durga" honored the nine forms of Goddess Durga, symbolizing strength, protection, and the eternal energy that sustains all life. Through mesmerizing performances, the students vividly portrayed the essence of Shakti, the divine force, emphasizing themes of courage, compassion, and resilience, which are central to the human experience and the spirit of Nav Durga.The event began with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by a heartfelt tribute to Ranbir Singh Ji, the founder of the school. After the floral welcome of the esteemed guests, the prize distribution recognized the meritorious students and achievers in sports and other fields.
The cultural evening began with a mesmerizing Durga Vandana, followed by a captivating symphony where students showcased their talent on drums, tabla, and guitar. The pre-primary dance by the tiny tots left the audience spellbound with their adorable performance.
The skit performances highlighted inspiring figures like Sudha Murthy, the first woman engineer, advocating for equal opportunities for women, and Lata Mangeshkar, whose melodious songs enchanted the audience. Gunjan Saxena’s portrayal as a fighter pilot, Kiran Majumdar and Rani Laxmi Bai’s fierce defense skills, and Mary Kom’s boxing prowess depicted strength and resilience. Kiran Bedi, as the first female police officer, reminded everyone that "justice knows no rank." The event also showcased the sacrifices of Rani Padmavati and the strength of Gayatri Devi.
The function concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience filled with pride
