Swachh Bharat Campaign
St. Edmund’s School Jawahar Nagar, undertook a Cleanliness drive in Government Sanskrit School on 18.9.17 with a spate of activities .
The school chalked out a plan to organize a wide range of activities like Poster making, Slogan writing, special assembly was organized in which students took a pledge and a speech was delivered regarding cleanliness drive for Swachh Bharat.
Edmundites explain about the importance of hygiene, sanitation and Cleanliness. Free sanitary napkins were also distributed to the under privileged children. The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the adopted school.

The students participated in various amazing activities conducted by “The Times of India”. The students made beautiful caps having thought provoking slogans and quotations on it. The students participated in slogan making and poetry composition as well. The students were given a golden opportunity to present their thoughts on the topic “Conserving ozone layer”.
They played with brushes and smeared the white canvases with a spectrum of colours. It gave vent to their imagination and expression. The artists of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur poured out their creativity and talent at the art exhibition held at Jawahar Kala Kendra. The two-day exhibition commenced on 9th Sept and will continue till 10th Sept 2017. It was inaugurated by Mr. Ashwin Dalvi Chairman, Raj LalitKala Akademi. Other dignitaries to visit the exhibition were Prof. Amit Kalla (Artist & Poet), Mr. Hansraj (Sculptor) and Mr. K.K.Kundra Caricature Artist.
The paintings showcased were of varying nature like Abstract and Modern art, folk art, nature, landscapes, Madhubani, fantasy and daily life. The paintings hung in the gallery showed the amount of work undertaken by the students and teachers alike. The students were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other invitees, as the beautiful art work left the spectators mesmerized.
The exhibition reached another level by the live demos given by eminent artists like Mr. K.K.Kundra on Caricature and sculpture making by Mr. Hansraj. However, the students were willing to learn more and they looked forward to attend another demonstration on “Fire Art and Photography” by Mr. Ajeet Kumar accompanied by a session on “Charcoal Art”, by Mr. Durgesh Atal. The ongoing exhibition made sure that the students involved should not only explain their work but also enhance their knowledge learning or getting hands on suggestions by the masters of their field.
“This exhibition is a medium to provide a platform to the budding artists so that they can display their talent. It also boosts their confidence when they are appreciated on for their work”, said Principal, Mrs. Anu Bhatia.
