To raise awareness within the young generation about the importance of environmental protection, St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar celebrated World Environment Day. Students and staff participated in plantation drives to make their surrounding green. World Environment Day aims to encourage actions, like these, to protect the environment.
To add more colour to the day, Students enjoyed a parachute making activity, which also taught them the importance of the three P's - Protect, Preserve and Promote 'Mother earth'.

Central Board of Secondary Education has organized a workshop for enhancing teachers knowledge towards a typology of questions, framing Objective type questions and to develop uniformity of mindset in teaching and matching it with CBSE curriculum of Business Studies at St Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar.
Teachers from the various school participated in the workshop. It was a training workshop for deepening teachers’ knowledge of the intriguing subject.
Resource person Mrs Anu Bhatia Principal of St Edmund’s School Jawahar Nagar and Mrs Anjali Jagdev from MGD School laid emphasis on the new pattern of CBSE as well as to orient teachers in subtilities of preparing objective type questions. The participants gained a lot of assistance in developing a strategy for effective teaching.

St. Edmunds in association with the Centre for science and environment (CSE) organised a Green School orientation session to introduce meaningful environment education at the school level.
Around 40 schools participated all over Jaipur. The resource person Aditi Sharma(Programme officer CSE) and Ruchika Sharma (deputy programme manager)from CSE stated that St Edmund’s school was certified as a green school, acknowledging regular practices to make the school green and clean. This recognition is the outcome of the continuous involvement of students and staff in creating innovative ideas to utilize resources efficiently.
They emphasized that School carry all the practices which are laid under GSP including sustainable mode of transport, maximum use of energy efficient lighting and alternative energy, minimum use of conventional light, rainwater harvesting etc..
The philosophy behind green schools holds that schools should not only nurture knowledge and understanding but also create the foundation of environmental ethics among students.

It was a fruitful session for all the schools. The teachers showed a keen interest in participating in the Green audit and will make all possible changes to make school green.
