St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, was recognised by CSE as one of the nine most sustainably run schools in India – a very proud moment for the school. In the article published in Down to Earth Magazine, it was stated that the school was certified as a green school, acknowledging regular practices to make the school green and clean, not only this, students are motivated regularly to utilise old stationery, garments for supporting community service.
School carry all the practices which are laid under GSP including sustainable mode of transport, maximum use of energy efficient lighting and alternative energy, water harvesting etc.. The philosophy behind green schools holds that schools should not only nurture knowledge and understanding but also create the foundation of environmental ethics among students.
The students of St. Edmund school arranged a grand farewell ceremony for the outgoing students of class XII.
The event began with garlanding of Lord Ganesha followed by lamp lightening. The juniors gave a warm welcome to the senior students as well as school management.
The juniors & seniors enjoyed the day reminiscing the time spent together in the school.
When the juniors performed enthusiastically on popular farewell songs for their seniors, it made everyone emotional. As a memento, the school gave “A year Book” to every student of the outgoing batch.
Tanish Katta & Tanvi Khanna won Mr and Ms Edmund’s title, Divyansh Sharma & Chanchal Tanwani bagged the Mr & Ms Farewell title respectively.
The flashback memories shared by head girl Tanvi, in her speech, with very heart touching lines made the event further memorable.
School Joint Director Dr Pooja Singh &Principal Mrs Anu Bhatia asked the students to face challenges with confidence and to do their best. They also wished them well for their future endeavours.
St. Edmund's School, Jawahar Nagar, organised “ Journée pédagogique “ an interactive French teacher’s training programme in collaboration with Indo French cultural society, to promote various teaching techniques by using creative methodologies. Various schools from Jaipur sent their French faculties to participate in the programme.
It consisted of four modules, the first module expanded on utilising practical methods like games, activities and charts to enhance thorough learning of the language. It was presented by Ms Balvinder Kaur Bindra(French language expert and international trainer. The second module talked about memorising tough spellings in the foreign language. It was presented by Dr Dolly Setia, ( HOD french at St. Edmunds & lecturer in the University of Rajasthan). The third module expanded on using theatrical aids to further the learning of the language. It was presented by Dr Nidhi Raisinghani(assistant professor at ELLIS Department, University of Rajasthan).The fourth module presented the role of authentic documents in the foreign language.
The pedagogical program was well designed to work on the multiple intelligence of foreign language learners by providing them with different ways of interactive classroom teaching.
The training ended with a fruitful interaction between the représentants of Campus France, the French Embassy and all the participants of the training.
St. Edmunds school organized Euphoria 2019, its 6th annual art exhibition, at The City Palace (Maharaj Swai Man Singh Museum II, Art gallery)on 4th &5th February 2019. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Surendra Soni, the Secretary of Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy& the Guest of Honor was Ms Rama Dutt executive trustee of Sawai Man Singh Museum II.
Edmundites experimented with shape, colour and texture while creating still lives and interior designs. The exhibits incorporated different subjects of paintings such as nature, mythology, fantasy, daily life, Buddha and sculpture.
What made their artwork unique was the students' confidence in their individual expression. The main objective of this exhibition was to showcase each student’s expression of their creativity.
On 5th Feb renowned guest Ms Brigitte Uttar Kornetzky’s director of the documentary film “where Elephants Sleeps”& Mr Sandeep Sethi Former Director Education officer CBSE also appreciated the work of students. The exhibition included a live demo by Edmundites on charcoal art, soft pastel and portrait making which provided a platform for budding artists to showcase their skills.
The beautiful artwork made by Kaynat, Vishakha, Jaishree, Aanchal, Ritu, Nishita , Manaya , Shumila, Khushi, Harsh, Aakansha got an overwhelming response by guest artists and left spectators mesmerized.

The much awaited Annual Sports meet of St Edmund’s School ,Jawahar Nagar brimmed the ground of Rajasthan UniversityJaipur with enthusiasm,excitement and cheers on 31st Jan2019, during which prelims of different races were conducted and shortlisted for the final round to be conducted on Annual sports meet.Mr Rafeeq Khan (MLA of Adarsh Nagar)& Sumit Bagasara(Vice president of National shooting player) joined on 25th Jan2019 to inaugurate the day with epitomy of energy.
The event commenced with the School director Mr Sudhir Singh &Principal Mrs Anu Bhatia welcoming the esteemed gathering on 31st Jan with the chief guest Mr Gautam Bhansali(Rt.IG Crime branch) & Guest of honor Mr Ishmandhu Talwar(writer & renouned journalist) &Mr Sharad Gaur(Chief editor of replay news Jaipur).Mr Bhansali took the salute of the impressive march past of the students,coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.The students entered into the spirit of occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the sports captain.The four houses Shaurya, Parakram , Veer and Shakti presented their drills and won the hearts of the audience .
It was delighted to see the excitement with which children challenged themselves to attempt variety of races and games such as Seven stones,Kabaddi,Kho kho,100Mt race,relay race,long jump,Basketball,volleyball,Throw ball etc..Many new records were made in 100Mt race & games.As the building atheletes of St Edmund’s School ran for the finishing line ,the Rajasthan University reverberated with enthusiatic cheers from the spectators.All the atheletes played with the true sportsman spirit.
Announcement of the winnersof Shri Ranbir Singh tournament was done in which St Edmund’s School grabbed the first posiotion & second position was bagged by Subodh public school & third position to Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan (Pratap nagar).
In the pre primary wing Hammed, Hamza&Siddhart won gold, silver and bronze medal in jelly fish race. In cat & mouse race Asad,Abrar & Diya Sukhlani were the winners. And in flower race of Sr Kg Lavina,Sristhi,Krippi, Hammad, Avesh aur Sarvesh Meena won the gold, silver and bronze medals.
In get ready for the school game Shah & Akshara won gold medal. Shiven & Kashish of Parakram & Veer House won the gold medal.In 100Mt Hurdle race Devesh & Anjali from Veer & Parakram house bagged the gold medal.In Dodge ball ,throw ball & Kabaddi Shakti house won the gold medal. In Kho Kho Veer House won the gold medal .In long jump Kartik Soni ,Ishaan & Kuldeep won the gold medal. In volley ball veer house won the gold medal & in basket ball match Parakram house won the gold medal.But at last Veer house chimed the bells of victory.
The school young achievers were awarded & were applauded for their talent & their unmatched potential in the sports field. School Joint director Dr Pooja Singh emphasised on the importance of sports in a child's life. The sports meet concluded with a vote of thanks and singing of National Anthem.
